Happy Friday! Did you know it’s National Iced Tea Day? I am a huge tea fan and will definitely be celebrating! In honor of this wonderful day and recent events, please watch this smart and funny video.
We have fun plans with great friends this weekend. I’ll tell you all about it next week. For now, here are some of my favorite things this week:
This is the victim’s statement in the Brock Turner sexual assault case and needs to be read by everyone. Read it to your kids when they are old enough. And then read it to them again. This woman is BRAVE and oh so right.
This is a wonderful article on how to teach your kids about consent. You can start these techniques with children as young as one! This is a resource I will be referring to often.
On a lighter note, Peonies are so gorgeous and abundant right now! Last summer we (Steve) planted 2 bushes and they bloomed so beautifully this year! Steve thinks he deserves the credit, but I bought the plants, so there’s that.
Connect The Tots is an amazing group I joined when we first moved to Reading and Griffin was born. The goal is to connect families by creating playgroups and organizing activities and outings. Each Sunday evening I receive an email detailing all the events of the week. I was also matched up with our playgroup through Connect The Tots. Another perk? When Parker was born, a meal train was created for our family. Three times a week for three weeks we received meals from various families in town. I can’t tell you how grateful I was for those meals!
The Boston Girl is a fabulous book I just finished. It’s by Anita Diamant, the author of another favorite, The Red Tent. Although not as deep as the Red Tent, The Boston Girl is a great story of a modern woman in the earlier 20th century. Check it out if you’re looking for an easy summer read.
What are you into this week? Share in the comments!
Love the blog, both the beauty of Griffin with the bloom and wise words about children and their bodies.
The blog is always an enjoyable and informative read, thanks, Katrine!
Great stuff!!! Consent is so important. There are several articles about consent and kids. Especially, asking them certain questions like, “can I tickle you?” Teaching them boundaries from the beginning is so important.
Here are my finds:
1. Market basked already grilled chicken.
YES!! This makes my life so much easier. Woohoo!
2. UGLY brand gluten free sourdough pizza crust. I haven’t tried it yet, but I will report back when I do.
3. Not gluten free, but Market basket in Londonderry is now carrying Centerville Pies!! Woohoo!
4. goddess garden sunscreen. We used it all last year and I loved it. No burns. I also like Think baby.
